Tuna Patties: A High-Protein Recipe
Tuna patties
A simple twist on a classic: swap the meat in a regular patty recipe for canned tuna.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna (in water), drained well
- 1 egg
- breadcrumbs, as needed
- salt, pepper, marjoram, garlic, or seasoning of your choice
Squeeze as much liquid out of the tuna as you can first — this matters, since without it the mixture ends up too wet and you'll need far more breadcrumbs than necessary to bind it, giving you something closer to a dense roll than an actual patty. Mix in the egg and enough breadcrumbs to get a proper patty consistency, then season to taste — salt, pepper, marjoram, and garlic work well, or season however you like.
Shape into patties and pan-fry, or cook on a contact grill if you have one — that way you don't need to add any extra oil. Serve with potatoes or rice on the side.
